In June, "Let's Talk Story" was joined by special guests from Hawaiian Electric to tell the community about upcoming projects and activities, as well as answer the community's questions about the grid.

May'26

May's "Let's Talk Story" featured special guests Tom Yamachika and Ted Kefalas, who educated the community members about new and existing legislation that could impact taxes.

MARCH'26

In March we were joined by experts and specialists working on the front lines of the homelessness response here in Hawai'i Kai and across our islands.

FEBRUARY'26

The event featured a panel of community leaders discussing respectful development, environmental conservation, and the importance of community input to preserve the Heart of Hawai'i Kai

January'26

This "Let's Talk Story" session focused on strengthening Hawaii’s food security and supporting the local agricultural industry. The event brought together state officials, industry veterans, and new farmers to discuss the challenges of an island state that currently imports 85% to 95% of its food.

November'25

This "Let's Talk Story" event, featured leaders from the Hawaii Emergency Management Agency (HIEMA) and the Honolulu Department of Emergency Management (DEM) to discuss disaster readiness and the unique challenges of island isolation.

This "Let's Talk Story" session, featured Jim Kelly, Hawaiian Electric’s (HECO) VP of Community and Government Relations. The event focused on the specific challenges of the electrical grid in Hawaii Kai, HECO’s shift toward wildfire safety post-Lahaina, and the future of Hawaii's energy goals.
